[Hallicrafters] My First Boat Anchor Restoration: SX101 MkIII

Thanks Bill,
It started with a National NC183D that a buddy gave me. It was in
excellent condition and just needs new caps. I was looking for a
transmitter and I found one at from a local ham: an HT37. I have used
an SX101A (which I was almost able to get but the deal fell through),
and an SX100. Ideally, I would like to find an SX111 to go with the
HT37 (and or course an HT32 for the SX101M2).
One of the things I enjoy is operating CW on Straight Key Night. I
wanted to get a boat anchor station so that I can do it with older
gear. Little did I know that there is something about the warm glow
of tubes on a cold winter's night. I was hooked. I enjoy old things
anyway (I collect old books and I recently purchased an old telescope,
my other passion is Amateur Astronomy).
Thanks everyone for being my online elmers.
