We live in a world of throw away phones. A phone number is better than none
but not a guarantee unless the phone traces to a home number.

I edited this for space. I've had the same experience when making
post to a number of the reflectors that I subscribe to looking for parts
for radios. This has been going on for some time. I second your
advice. Ask for a phone number. These crooks usually won't do that or
they are in Timbuktu somewhere. There are a LOT of shady people looking
to take anybody's money for just about any reason.
