Was it Eric Schaulkhauser's or Russ Planck's humor sometimes found in the
equipment manuals? In one of the manuals it stated the controls are not
marked because experienced radio men have no need for control markings. And in
the RME-9D manual...You will notice we did not include alignment
instructions. Any competent serviceman will already know how to align a superhet. If
you're looking for instructions you have no business inside an RME.

Hi Ed,

You can add one more! I have a 6901 (along with a 6900)

Don't remember what I paid for it.

My only other claim to fame is (even though the 6900 may have been past
their time)
is I knew both Eric Schaukhauser and also Russ Planck (sp)

Had lunch with them many times and enjoyed their RME stories many times..

JUST wish I would have paid more attention to both as they were real
terasures!!

My goodness Bob!!! That IS a rare birdie indeed. I once bought a nice '6900
JUST to get the speaker!!! That makes yours and mine the only 2 I've ever
seen/heard for sale! THAT '6900 went along with some Gonset stuff (a VERY
nice G-76 with matching PS) in a trade for the excellent condition NCL2000
I
have that was converted as a project (effectively) by Svetlana into a pair
of 4CX400s. A thing I would never, ever countenance. However it was already
done, and a beautiful job of it they did. You cannot tell they weren't
original. So, I still have my original '6900 and the added '6901. Very nice
pieces, aren't they?!
