In CANADA.....we call the 11th of November "REMEMBRANCE DAY" . Same
thing as Armistice Day ....just a different name. It only co-incides
with a Long weekend if the 11th of November is on a Friday or Monday.
Not everyone in CANADA gets the 11th of Novemeber off as a Holiday...but
many do...... Mostly Government employees.

And yes....we do wear Poppies during this time.......and we all learned
the famous Poem "In Flanders Fields" when we were in Elementary School!!
Of course this Poem was written by Lt. John McCrae ...a Soldier in the
CANADIAN ARMY.

I'm Not that Old....just 55 Years....but I remember all this from my
School days too.........
