[Hallicrafters] S40A Help

It should be easy to use the S40 schematic.   Make a same size copy and do
some circuit tracing and note any differences you find.   Can't be much
difference and it should be a good exercise to get familiar with the
circuitry.

If I had a later schematic I'd have just used it and not wasted my time
trying to find the exact schematic for such a simple receiver.  

However the 80 and the 5Y3 are really the SAME tube with different bases.
Thus I'd suggest there's little, if any, difference in the schematic.

I think you may be making a problem where none really exists.   Do the
simple circuit tracing to make sure.
