[Hallicrafters] Slack in metallic dial cord on SX 100A

Hello John,

I've resolved this problem twice with the many sx-100's I've had....First advice is to check every set screw on the drive pulley's. Hate to admit my mistakes but on one sx-100 I had, I was convinced they were all tight and started to tear the unit apart and found that indeed one pulley was not tight. That ended the backlash problem. On another unit I had, The steel cord was weak. I found some nice steel cord at a craft store. The cord is/was used for making beaded bracelets and other jewelry. They even had tiny clamps with set screws that I used to clamp/hold the new cable in place. That solved that problem. 

First, check all those set screws and make sure they are snug, ....you know.....tight, not reefed!

There is also a bit of play within the mounting brackets, that is, you can loosen them where they attach to the chassis, and move them a bit to decrease the cable slack.
