There will be a Christmas based verse or short story posted every Saturday
and Sunday through Christmas day. All of them, plus more, will also be
present on the Hallicrafters web site. Some are Hallicrafters related, some
are other radio related and some just deal with Christmas icons like Frosty,
Rudolph, Santa and Mrs. Claus, various Elves and Pixies, Reindeer, Jack
Frost etc.

Please join us tomorrow, Sunday December 11th. for the twelve days of
Halli-day Christmas merriment.

The HHI Net commences at 12:30 - 2:00 PM EST or 1730 - 1900 UTC. There is no
longer a 'Pre-Net'. It is just one Net!

The frequency is 14.293 MHZ USB +/- for Key Clicks, Mike Splatterand dribble
from XMTR'S on 14.295 that are wider than the buttocks of a Brontosaurus! I
have dispatched the 'Net Controls' a letter explaing the interference
problem as clearly as I could. Last week on them came up to 14.293 MHZ to
complain about me splattering them! It almost made me joyous to know the
problem was mutual, but I behaved myself. I offered to move down 500 cycles
to 14.2925 if they would move up 500 cycles. No way! They were not going to
move.

I politely explained that the Vintage SSB Net had been holding a Sunday Net
there since at least 1996. The Hallicrafters has been there since early in
1997, I think. I explained that both Nets are in QST and other publications,
and out times and frequencies are so stated on many web sites, mailing lists
etc. He could have cared less. So I believe that I, we, did our part to be
cooperative.

Remember my legal limit Ameritron AL-82A amp that started having a high
voltage arc issue about thirty months ago? Well she is going to be healed
brothers! Dr. Jan, K1ND, who formerly taught electronics at Eastern Michigan
University and W8KY, Jim, the former Heathkit engineer who designed/built
the famous Heathkit Twoer, and other products, have my amp on the surgery
table now. When she comes back home, healed and ready to kick RX front ends,
I will be operating at about 1,200 watts PEP instead of the current 450
watts PEP, so the Mosley TA-33 at sixty feet might be able to punch holes in
soft fluffy clouds!

The check ins who are having difficulties in hearing me currently, should be
able to copy me much better when the AL-82A is operational again.

You might keep our Web Master, W5JT, Jim, in your thoughts and prayers. He
is facing some very dangerous surgery soon. It is going to keep him down for
several weeks, and several months when he returns home.

If ANY of you would be willing to be his Web Master back up, please contact
Jim ASAP! WEBMASTER at W9WZE.NET

Have a most joyous, happy and safe Halli-day season. Remember the 'real'
reason for the season! I hope you enjoy the various bits of verse and prose
I post as well.

Here is hoping to hear many of you tomorrow!
