Interesting comments Ron.

My only experience was a short loaner back when all I had was a highly 
modified C Line and a similar 75A4 and wanted to listen out of band for a 
few things.

On a very good antenna it fell apart from overload which I also confirmed on 
a few ham bands. Im sure it is fine for a casual user with a hunk of wire 
for an antenna.
Some of those under $100 Chinese radios are amazing performers, at least on 
small antennas, from what Ive been reading.

But since the FRG-7 wasnt built by Hallicrafters we better cut this short.
