Larry,
The FRG-7 is a RECEIVER only! The thrift shop is pulling someone's leg
by selling it with a microphone.
I absolutely would NOT pay that price for it.
I bought a years later made Kenwood R-2000 for less.
They do NOT work very well with a separate transmitter.
You could get a Yaesu FT-101 series transceiver for that or less.
I bought an FT-101B with microphone for $200. I converted the sweep
tube finals to 6146s.
My $0.02! YMMV
