Larry,

The FRG-7 is a RECEIVER only!  The thrift shop is pulling someone's leg 
by selling it with a microphone.

I absolutely would NOT pay that price for it.

I bought a years later made Kenwood R-2000 for less.

They do NOT work very well with a separate transmitter.

You could get a Yaesu FT-101 series transceiver for that or less.

I bought an FT-101B with microphone for $200.  I converted the sweep 
tube finals to 6146s.

My $0.02!  YMMV
