Realistic (Radio Shack) DX-440 is a terrific little receiver.  The BFO 
actually stays still and the switchable audio-bandpass works as a sort of 
afterthought-filter for SSB, AM, & CW.  I have noticed that the BFO changes 
zero a bit if the room temp varies substantially, but if you leave the radio 
in one place for awhile, it settles down nicely.  Typical price is around 
$60 on Ebite.
