When I owned the Motorola reconditioned equipment center for the south-central United States (1970 until Motorola went out of that "end" of the business in 1979) we used a 7.5 hp air compressor to "feed" a large glass bead cabinet as well as for painting. Every radio was beaded before painting and then final testing. This resulted in every radio looking just like every other radio no matter how the unit looked before beading. The customers really liked this.
Although I had employees to use the glass bead cabinet and to paint, I learned how to use the paint guns and so forth. I sold the company in 1980. But, I still miss that 7.5 hp compressor, bead machine, and paint booth!

The ACE spray paint comes with a rotatable feathering nozzle --- behaves like a paint gun. I prepare the cases by doing a chem strip and bead blast using glass beads. Doesn't wear the cases down but leaves a dull finish that will hold ACE's paint without a primer. Success is when you paint and ship a P-2000 power supply and it arrives with the paint in tact knowing that the case had to have been bent as it is far too thin for a 65 pound PS. Lot of ways to do things ---- just don't have the experience with a commercial paint gun --- may try it some day when I have a volume job. Till then, a great day to you and Kindest regards Jim K9AXN
