[Hallicrafters] HT37 paint

The perfect paint for the SR-2000/400/400A is ACE hardware Stone grey satin.
If you bead blast the case to roughen it up you can paint without a primer.
Comes in a spray can. If the old finish is not to badly chipped, you can
paint over it to preserve the texture but the smooth finish looks much
nicer. Try it on a cabinet, you won't be disappointed. Kindest regards Jim

There were slight variations in "tint" over the years even within a
particular model. The gray that I have had computer matched works very well
for all of the light gray Hallicrafters units. However, you cannot just
"touch up" the paint. There are way too many variables in how a particular
"paint job" has aged. Even items that were painted at the same time "age"
differently due to sunlight, pollution, etc.

Also, when I have a paint matched I use an area that has not been subject to
sunlight, etc. Usually that is going to be where the paint has been
"hidden" by the chassis, etc. The paint is going to be what the unit looked
like when new, not after 40 or more years of exposure to the elements.

to refinish my SR-2000 cases. Tnx
