Hmmm Tom,
I wonder where one might procure a "valve grinding kit for the grid"?
In 1964 one guy I knew casually was going to rebuild the 265 CI V/8 Chevy
mill in the 98% automotive trash 1956 Chevy hardtop that he had purchased.
He actually ground the intake and exhaust valves using a electric motor
powered belt driven grinding wheel! Can you envision what those poor valves
looked like afterwards? (GROAN) Needless to say, he had to buy a new set of
valves! It never occurred to any of the members of our car club that anyone
could possibly be so dense as to grind valves with a motorized grinding
wheel! If we had even suspected that he would have done that, one of us
would have taken him aside and explained there was a better way to grind and
seat intake/exhaust valves!
Duane
