[Hallicrafters] SX-62 Xformer Resistance Measurements

OK, I ran resistance checks on the primary of the output xformer (w. leads disconnected but with the transformer installed on the chassis). I used a DMM. Here are the readings:

CT to Ground: 35 Ohms
Plate Lead 1 to Ground: 32 Ohms
Plate Lead 2 to Ground; 35K Ohms

Plate Lead 1 to CT: 42 Ohms
Plate Lead 2 to CT: 27K Ohms

Plate Lead 1 to Ground: 33 ohms
Plate Lead 2 to Ground: 46K ohms

Plate Lead 1 to Plate Lead 2: 53K ohms

Is the output xformer shorted interally or to the chassis? Do these readings explain the smoke from the output xformer and the cherry red plates on the 5U4?
