[Hallicrafters] SR-2000 audio

Hi Richy:
Are the absence of lows as transmitted or received or both? The SR-2000
audio is normally excellent, both transmit and receive with the carrier
oscillator set to 1.651550 Mc and 1.648550 Mc USB/LSB respectively. You can
move them inward to enhance the lower response but remember, the opposite
sideband will come with the move --- measure the rejection. I've heard the
old timers like myself say "I need to enhance the highs" --- the lows only
occasionally. If it's in receive mode, use an R48 speaker; the stock
speaker in the P-2000 is deaf on the lows and the R-48 likes them.

NOTE:
If you try to enhance the high tones by moving the carrier oscillator out
ward from center, bear in mind that the USB 1.651550 Mc carrier is forced
through the filter 30 db to 40 db down the filter skirt in tune and CW mode
causing transmit drive to wane.

Kindest regards Jim K9AXN
