Eric
It is relatively easy to make a 6v to 12v (or 24v and more) high efficiency
converter with a couple of Power MOSFETS and simple transformer.
A couple years ago I did some experimental work for a fellow and developed a
simple electronic replacement for the synchronous vibrator in a 6vdc / 12vdc
/ 120vac rig.
The design worked so well I tried a few other ideas one of which was the dc
to dc converter.
I never got around to publishing it but probably should have.
I still have all my notes if there is interest I'll figure out best way to
share.
