Among the Brit toys that Ive owned were a 54 Ariel Square Four, 70 Norton
Golden Commando, 67 titled (actually a 65 production) TVR Griffith with a
Ford 289 (factory Hi-Po 271 hp as installed), 63 Jag sedan with a 350 Chevy,
62 AH-3000 with a 327 Chevy, 65 Sunbeam Tiger that I upgraded to a 289
Hi-Po.
Of them all the Jag was the most fun and the longest owned, from 72-76. The
350 was built to 365 hp specs and with a Muncie 4spd. The fantastic Jag
handling, brakes, comfort, plus the V-8 made for a great almost daily
driver. Almost all traces of the Prince of Darkness were removed or
disconnected.
The Griffith was horrible, only good in a straight line, poor brakes and
uncomfortable, Id just been married and the wife wouldnt ride in it. I
quickly got a 68 Camaro SS-350 ragtop.

Ah yes... among my many radios I have managed to kept thru the years
(Valiant, SX-110, DX-60 etc) I also managed to hold on to two of my favorite
cars, my 1957 AC Ace and 1957 AC Aceca Bristol, two cars that DIDN'T get
away!
The AC-Shelby used not only the body style, but the frame as well for the
260/289 versions. Shelby basically just dropped the V8 into the AC Ace tube
chassis and made very minor body style changes. Some things were beefed up
of course to handle the extra horsepower/tourqe, like the rear-end etc. It
wasn't until the 427 monster came out that he completely revamped the
chassis and made major body style changes.
see http://www.w2ec.com for both my ham radio and AC Cars web pages

Actually - it's EITHER an A-C Cobra or a Shellby Cobra. The original
coachwork (body) came from AC (their earlier car, that inspired the Cobra
was the AC Ace - 6 cylinder engine)
Yeah, yeah - no way I could afford either one. Kicking myself for selling
the two A-H 3000's, years ago.
I WAS given a very nice VALIANT with an early-serial Golden Eagle (D-104),
does that gain me admission to the brag-fest?
