Yep, with the typical dealer price 30% off list and the companies making a 
good profit on top of that. National often gave out 50% discounts to 
employees and even more for closeouts and some refurbed returns.

I paid something like $800 for an unsold earlier run NIB HRO-500, plus 
LF-10, speaker and rack kits for both just before I left in 69. I believe 
the 500 listed at $1895 then? Sold the 500 in the 80's and bought a last run 
140 series a few years later from a second owner. Kept all the rest and use 
the 500/LF-10 regularly after a complete overhaul. Finished another 500 for 
a customer last week and another is on the way. Aint retirement great!
