That is VERY interesting re the qualities of penetrants, especially the PB Blaster vs Liquid Wrench. One of my favorite elixers for chassis cleaning has been PB Blaster, but the fumes are downright nauseating and no doubt dangerous to boot. I was using Blaster to break the corrosion and do the major cleaning, followed by Nevr-Dull Metal Polish to do the finish work. They do a good job but I'l going to give Liquid Wrench another shot.

It goes without saying that you don't "hose" the radio with this stuff as it can do some nasty things to transformers and coils, as well as fiber switches and terminal strips. Ever seen a switch wafer burn up? O learned my lesson on a Hammarlund HQ-180, but fortunately was able to get another (NOS) switch from someone who had a stock of Hammarlund parts left from the plant closing (the guy is now dead unfortunately and no idea what happened to his hoard).
