[Hallicrafters] For the Wrenchers

Try a mix of diesel fuel or home heating oil, ATF which is really a highly
refined 10W with additives, and brake fluid. The acetone is a good idea to
add at the time of use to dissipate the resultant mess.
I use PB, Kroil, Liquid Wrench as well as the homebrew. Heating the rusted
parts before applying helps also, just watch for exceeding the flash
temperatures.
I picked up an old can of Sears Penetrating Oil at a yard sale last year, it
does an excellent job; Id say it dates from the 70's.
Working around vintage vehicles, lawn and yard equipment, several ham
towers, lots of yagis, as well as restoration of vintage radios and
transmitters, I find a constant need for rust penetrants.
