Even if the paint came from the exactly the same "batch" (which it probably didn't) the environment in which the speakers have spent the last over 50 years will cause the colors to be different. In fact, even when the same "batch" of paint is used the absolute color is going to be different for a number of reasons including the humidity that day, the absolute "technique" of the person doing the painting, and so forth.
Remember, radio cabinets were painted by humans, not automatic robots, and therefore every cabinet will probably be very slightly different from the next cabinet.

Yep, drop by W3HM Howard Mills' place and look at the four identical original paint Collins 270G speakers he has. They're all noticeably different in color.
Anybody know exactly why that color is named "St. James Gray" anyway? I'd sure hate to have such a dismal color named after me, but then again, I'll never be canonized so it's not a problem.
