Good morning Everybody,

First of all, I would like to thank Todd for his excellent discussion on
these receivers. Many thanks, Todd!! I am working on an RBK-16 for a
friend, and Todd's description fits it perfectly. It is not a WWII vintage
receiver, and it looks to be mid-50's vintage. This RBK-16 has a Western
Electric 396A tube in the front end for an RF amp and for additional
isolation between the antenna and the oscillator stage. The WE 396A is a
VHF dual triode and a 9 pin miniature tube.

I have an original S-27C manual and as Todd says, it describes the S-37
receiver. Perhaps the S-27C was an early name for the S-37; that is my
guess. There were many S-27's sold to the military as RBK's. I have a
couple of S-27's in my collection, and would like to add an S-36 someday.
This RBK-16 that I am working on is a beautiful receiver and is in mint
condition.

Brian, if you need some more details, please let some of us know. Everybody
have a great weekend!!

Best Regards From Aloha, Oregon,
Liles Garcia
