As Bob so accurately put it; if our Elmers could see what we have today, 
they WOULD be amazed.  Being a former Burstein-Applebee employee for several 
years (Chief Tech for Pro Industrial Div), I've collected many of the 
catalogs they put out, and owing to the recent passing of one of the senior 
employees from the Applebee side, I now have catalogs from 1936, 1940, & 
1946, in addition to my collection from 1964 till their FINAL breath in 
1980.  Looking at the sig-gens, meters, and o-scopes - as the old cigarette 
ad used to entone "We've come a long way, baby".

Interestingly, the tube-testers look the same!
