Another trick is to click on any of the Seller's other current items and ask them a question but regarding the dials and not the listed item. This tactic usually works with a good seller. If not then you don't want to do business with them anyway.
This guy regularly advertises so don't worry he will reappear in a week or two.
I'm been watching them for the last few months. Product seems great but I've not read any reviews.
Any comments out there on the quality ??
Thanks

Recently there were some reproduction dials and matching S-meter face
for the SX-28 for sale on the famous auction site. There are none for
auction presently, and because the seller has no other auctions up, I
cannot contact him via the site. Does anyone on this reflector have
contact info for the seller? Has anyone on the reflector seen these
firsthand?

Go to that place and use the "advanced search" option, shown in ( ) behind
the regular search boxes.
Search for "Hallicrafters dial" and check the box a little further down
labeled "completed listings".
The auction will show and you can then ask a question.

Tried that. New auction site policy is that you can't contact a seller
through their network if the seller has no current auctions on their
site. (That's to prevent you from buying something without going
through the auction process.)

Weird.
Just FYI, the following is the message I get from the auction site when
I try to send a message to the seller of the dials via the "ask seller a
question" method. Since it says "....we sometimes block....", I assume
this is just happening to me for this particular instance, but it is
persistent - I've tried to contact this seller at different times over
several days and this always comes up.

you are not currently involved in an open transaction. For the
protection of the eBay community, we sometimes block these types of

*
If you are trying to contact the seller of an item that has not
yet ended go to the item page and click the ?Ask seller a question? link.
*
If you are the winning buyer of an item go to your My eBay page
under the items I?ve Won section. Click the action drop down menu and
choose the ?contact seller? action.
*
If you are a seller trying to contact your winning buyer, go to My
eBay and under the Items I?ve Sold section, click the action drop down
menu. Choose the ?contact buyer? action.
*
Reply to seller/bidder through personal email provider (if the
sender has not hidden their email address).
Thank you for your understanding.
