Windex has a vinegar based cleaner (works very well indeed on black power firearms) that MIGHT be useable. I'd be very careful trying it out; but if you do and it works you might let the group know.

NC-183D dial glasses are screened on the outside! Windex with ammonia can clean the nomenclature off.

You have a NC-183D with a screened panel?  I have never see one of
hose.
