[Hallicrafters] Replacement for a PL-172 in HT-33A?

Back a couple of years ago, when I was a member of ECARS, there was a fellow
who was a net control that told me that he was modifying his 33a or b to use
a different tube. I'm sorry I cannot remember his call but I believe his
name was Butch. If I can get into ECARS tomorrow I will try to find out his
call.
