I used "orange drops" when I recapped my AR-88 too. Job went FB, the
non-axial leads a little awkward in a few places but no real problem.
Noted significant improvement in performance following the procedure.
The old bathtubs in the 88 all deteriorated and in many cases mounted
some distance away from the SG, cathode, decoupling filter, etc. being
bypassed. I mounted the new components directly on the affected tube
sockets, IF cans, terminal strips, etc. wherever possible.
