Remembering back to when my original S-85, which has the
same basic knobs, was new, the rings were satin, not bright
chrome.

That's my memory of my once-new S-38B. Well, I will try
this thing when I get it. It can't look worse than the
oxidized surface there now. Perhaps brushing the nickel
plate will come close to duplicating the original finish.
