[Hallicrafters] HT-9

At night I used the glow of the tubes as my CW monitor. The tubes glowed purple
with each dit and dah of my war surplus Vibroplex. And what great audio! The
lights would be out so I wouldn't wake my parents. My Elmer thought it would be
a great transmitter for my new General Class License in 1958.

I have found 3 that I have purchased in the last 20 years. One came from
NC. My parents were good enough to pick it up on the way back from their
winter jaunt to Fla.
The other two were both from ME. The newer one (green) was in rough shape
and had been hacked so it has been a parts donor for many others.
My prize is a black faced one that was in great shape except for a hambone
replacement of the filter caps. The front and rest of it are almost a ten.

I agree the audio is fantastic and I love the look of the rig. It is big,
but hey you can almost step inside of it and walk around while you work on
it.
