While you're at it,check the other silver micas inside the IF trasformer .If they're leaky ,that will kill the sensitivity of the rcvr.
last SX-28A I worked on,had to replace the silver micas in ALL of the IF transformers.

However,I did find the 500k resistor open circuit and the 270pF cap leaky so
t wasn't a total waste of time.
