My #2 son is a USAF Major and was at the Naval Post Graduate School in 
Monterey getting another Masters degree. He rented a nice house there and we 
the taxpayers paid for home goods transportation back to his home of record 
when he graduated. The HT-9 was picked up during one of his weekend trips to 
the SF Bay area with his wife.

Its a very short story:

A customer stopped by to pick up his repaired Commander HF-2500 amp on the 
way to the ARRL Boxboro convention and flea market.

He got the amp and I got a Racal RA-17 UK version, a very nice military 
T12LS speaker and a mint HQ-129X cabinet that will replace the amateur black 
spraybomb job on the radio I got at the fall Nearfest all recapped and with 
a new front panel for $75.

This was a totally unplanned swap for either of us, he didnt know I was into 
this old junque and I didnt know he even had any.

The amp repair was $272, about 60% was labor, so I guess I did OK, not a JN 
or OKQ steal, but Im happy.  On a weight basis we are about even.
