[Hallicrafters] HA-6 and HA-2 transverters

On the subject of transmitting converters, some years ago I picked up a
little 6 meter unit made by Continental Electronics called a "Six".
It's about a foot square, gray, and has a 2E26 output tube. The power
supply is external (which I had to build my own). A odd feature is that
it needed a 22 1/2 volt bias battery (I used two 9 volt batteries in
series). I made quite a few SSB and CW QSO's with it.

I was interested in it because I had never seen or heard of one before I
stumbled upon it. I had no idea Continental had ever build any ham
gear. It is marked as being made in Sumter, SC which is about 25 miles
from where I live. I know Continental manufactures high power short
wave transmitters for the commercial market but not around here.

I never found a manual or schematic for the beast and had to de-cipher
it on my own. I guess my question is: Has anyone ever seen one of
these and know anything about the history of it?

Thanks,
Larry W4LK
