This going to be used IFR or just VFR? The cable length and velocity
factor may or may not be important. If for VFR and non certified
installation, I'd just use a good low loss (for that frequency) 50 ohm
coax such as the good RG-8X (foil shield plus braid) or maybe LMR or CNT
240. Even if not quite what they want the difference in position
accuracy would be small. 20 miles out the VOR can be a mile off while
the hand held GPS is within a 100'. They'll drive you nuts if you try to
keep the CDI precisely centered.
