When I sold CESSNA and MOONEY for Roach Aircraft (BJC) North of Denver... 
the spring-steel gear on the Cessna 150, 170, & 180 series birds was billed 
as "Land-O-Matic".... actually, the big pieces of spring steel kept the 
folks from burying the bird in the concrete.... and concerning the 
Mooneys... we always felt that the "Q-Tip" prop was invented on the 201 and 
231 ships.... and not intentionally.
