I concur on the V2 vs 3, Carl. Though neither are what you'd call
'easy' to service, at least the lid flips up on the 2! Mine's been out
of the cabinet more than in over the last few months with an oil
filled condenser that keep crapping out, The resonating cap across the
HV choke has let loose twice, but a 5KV replacement found at Shelby
seems to have settled the old girl down. Same style and footprint,
just a bit taller.

Haven't looked at the nasty SX-28, but it should at least yield some
usable parts if nothing else. A lot of them were made, so donors will
always be worth grabbing up. Maybe not from certain sellers, but
still....

Has anyone ever nailed down the correct blueish-gray color used on the
cabinets? I suppose the way Halli paint varied, it's a moot point.

Who knows, maybe some new-on-the-scene collector type will snap it up
to restore.
