Have you purchased that Silver paint at WalMart recently?
I think I have been into and looked in every WalMart and Super WalMart this
side of Dallas plus on-line. I am being told that it is no longer available.

I use acrylic paint from Sherwin-Williams which has been "computer matched".
The "black" that Hallicrafters used on quite a number of units turns out to
be a "stock" color (doesn't have to be "mixed") and is
Low Sheen Black #6403-26047
For the "silver" lid I have found that Color Place Aluminum #20012 is an
excellent match to the original. You can get the Color Place paint at
Walmart.
For other "boat anchor" paint formulas go to
http://k9sth.com/uploads/Boat_Anchor_Paint_article.pdf
In that article there are listed the formulas that I have had computer
matched over the years. I use Sherwin-Williams because there is a store
about 2 miles from my house and they do an excellent job of matching the
paint. However, just about any paint store can use the formulas to mix the
proper color paint.

I am re-activating an HT-32A that I bought at Harrison Radio in NYC in 1959.
There are a few scratches on the cabinet that call for a paint job. What is
the best approach? Who makes a satin finish paint in the right colors?
