You've got bad SILVER MICA caps inside the IF transformer which is a very
common problem with the SX-42/43 rcvrs.Once you replace 'em with new ones
you won't have any problems with the alignment.I did this on quite a few
SX-42's .

the transformer and replaced the 22 pfd cap across the secondary. The
primary peaks OK. I did notice the grid voltage on the 3rd IF tube is
about 2 volts when the book says 0 volts. I tried 2 other tubes with the
same results. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I doubt if it is the
problem but I am out of ideas, so I am Iooking for a 10.7 mc ratio
detector transformer. Would prefer one from a Hallicrafters SX-42 or
SX-43, but will consider any. My bad one is part number 50C208. Thank
