The manuals with the blue logo will also have the Northrop name on them.
Actually the demise of Hallicrafters was a result of their unsuccessful entry into the police/emergency radio market ( the HC series ). Lawsuits by cities of Hollywood, Fl and Denver, CO. as well as the Department of Defense is what really killed "H". The government finally forced the issue over the OPS and Porta Command series units destined for Viet Nam. The radios going to Nam were supposed to demonstrate a minimum MTBF of 600 hours they only achieved 17 hours. After a complicated competition Northrop was selected by the Hallicrafters Board of Directors and DOD to buy out all assets, liabilities and the name Hallicrafters.
Also the 65% return rate on the FPM-300 did not help the Hallicrafters market name. The Northrop/Wilcox redesigned FPM-300 MkII was a better rig but it was too late the damage was done.
