Join us Sunday March 8th for the HHI Sunday 20 meter Net. Worldwide SSB
Sweepstakes or not, we shall park in the NCS chair and hope to get the right
bank shot takeoff angle and find a place on the layer of D to get a return
angle that comes down somewhere on this planet! Being totally blind, I will
make no promises as to which state said signal shall beam on down to, or as
to what state of mind you will be in when it does! But somewhere among the
Hams calling CQ in the hundreds of tongues spoken on this third rock from
the Sun, myself, and others who still get a charge out of those wonders that
still go glow in the dark, shall be listening!
Unless I read my Braille calendar wrong, and depending how much abuse said
dots that comprise the 'Braille Cell' have already endured, I may or
may not
even be reading the right month, I think the daylight savings time thing
kicks in at 2:00 AM March 8th. Hence, you Spring ahead one hour now, so that
you can fall backwards on your Rumpus Buttacus Maximus the First Sunday in
November.
Hence, remember Fischer's rule! The apparent time on your ordinary watch or
wall clock or desk clock will "NOT" be affected by DST! If you reside
in the
EST zone, the Net still commences at 1:15 PM EST or EDT! However, the UTC
does change from 1:15 PM = 1815 to 1:15 PM = 1715 UTC! Since most Hams can
not compute UTC, Coordinated Universal Time, AKA 'CUT', anyhow, just
look at
the time piece you normally use nad the Net will still begin at the same
time, all the time, that clock or watch shows!
I hope to hear some of you tomorrow for the Pre-Net at 12:45 PM EST/EDT,
1645 UTC, and the HHI 20 meter Net at 1:15 PM EST/EDT, or 1715 UTC. The
frequency will be 14.293 MHZ usb +/- for key clicks, mike splatter and a
whole lotta loose lips chatterin' tomorrow! So dig in, get a grip on that
mike, the old chicken choker hold for the chrome lollipop, and be ready to
shout "Contact", "Break NCS Before I Yank Your Choke Chain
Tight!" or just
"Yo NCS, how copy?"
Show the world that you've got what it takes to go glow and stand by your
vertical and keep keying until the metal melts to form a beautiful shinny
ground cake Moon bounce pancake plane or buttered with WD-40 antenna.
