I would have to agree with Carl about an audio transformer problem in
the SSB generator. I have had that happen. Unfortunately there are not
too many options if that is the case. You can try to find a parts unit
with a good SSB generator. It's not all that difficult to remove from
the chassis. If you have time and patience, you can rewind the
transformers. If more than one of them are open, paying to have it done
is probably not worth the cost unless this particular HT-37 has
sentimental value for you and cost isn't a consideration. The only
other thing I can think of is to search the ham fests for interstage
transformers. I see them occasionally and they do show up on eBay from
time to time.
