[Hallicrafters] Transistors

The latest "cat's meow" for crystal set is to use the new zero voltage MOS
diodes which have effectively zero junction drop. In other words, using a
silicon diode looses a half volt where-as germanium is only a couple tenths,
so the end result is that the germanium diode will produce a louder detected
audio in the headphones, and the ZVS MOS device will require even less RF
for the same recovered audio.

I don't know about new crystal radio sets given the scare tactics about
lead in recent times, but the old standby for a crystal was lead sulfide
aka Galena.
