[Hallicrafters] Tropicallized or MFP

In the the wet, humid, jungle environment of the Pacific theater
during WWII, fungus and corrosion could destroy a piece of electronic
apparatus before it could be placed into service. Those coatings
were intended to minimize or eliminate that problem.
Another factor that contributed to this same problem was the issue of
how to protect and or seal a part or assembly from the environment
while it was in storage and or transit. That is why you see parts
from WWII sealed in packages that are still airtight after all these
years.
