[Hallicrafters] ODD SX-28A cabinet paint color

I recently acquired a nice SX-28A with a very STRANGE looking cabinet.  It looks for all the world like a factory paint job but it is smooth and sort of greenish grey.  It is not the standard blue-grey wrinkle job.  Can anyone tell me if this is a factory paint type or just a very good repaint in the wrong paint scheme?  I could also use a proper AVC-BFO knob, dial lock and a set of proper front panel screws.  Thanks and 73  AB8BW Tom
