[Hallicrafters] SX-42

The Sx-42 is really a TOUGH one to restore .It has some of the lousiest  
capacitors .Not only does one have to replace the paper caps but also most of  the 
silver micas inside the IF's are leaky ! On almost all the ones i've  
restored ,I had to dismantle the IF transformers and replace the silver  micas.But 
after that there was a marked improvement in sensitivity and  selectivity .It 
has caps hiding inside the RF deck etc  .I've  dismantled the whole RF front 
ends on SX-28's to gain access to those paper caps  but I think the '42 requires 
way too much work !
