How does it perform on bands 1-4? Any reception at all? Does the
oscillator coils and trimmers work? How about the RF and antenna
trimmers? We really need more info to try to diagnose your problem by
remote control.
6L6's are a similar but heavier duty than 6V6. They put out more power
like 50 watts in AB2. They may also draw more current than your power
supply can handle. Go back to 6V6's before you burn out your power
transformer.
