[Hallicrafters] OT - shipping question

I'm in the US and am contemplating the purchase of a receiver from a Ham in Canada.  It is my understanding that I would be assessed an import duty but that duty, if large enough, would make the purchase impractical.

Is there anyone on the list who can offer insight into whether an import duty would be assessed and, if so, how much it is likely to be?

Apologies to Duane and the list for posting an off topic question, but I've scoured the web for two weeks and can't seem to find anything useful.
