[Hallicrafters] Heads Up! HHI Web Site Rises From The Dead!

As many of you know, and several dozen have informed me, the HHI (Halligan's
Hallicrafters International) web site did a vanishing act about Thursday
evening. Maybe it too wanted time off for the Easter holiday!

I spoke with our incredibly talented Web Master, W5JT, Jim Thayer, last
evening by landline. He had been busy over the holidays and was not aware
the web site was gone. Clever man that he is, Jim fixed the problem while we
were on the phone. Sometimes security programs, even lines of code, work too
well and block everything!

Thanks to all who telephoned me, or wrote to me, to let me know that the HHI
web site was gone. It is great to know that the Hallicrafters fans, as well
as other vintage radio devotees, enjoy the web site and visit it enough to
know it is gone! No, the blind Magician/Illusionist did not dust his
assortment of magical wands and have one misfire! However, when the HHI site
goes amuck, gets stuck or is turned off cause nobody paid the providers some
bucks, you really should write to the man in charge, the Web Master.

Which brings up another issue. You can not write to 'WebMaster at w9wze.net'
when the site is down! So give the portly porcelin pig a whack with the well
worn Louisville Slugger still lurking in the corner from your long lost
childhood and use the change to ring his chimes! Or just do what most of you
do anyhow, write or call me! (LOL!)

Keep checking the HHI web site troops! As sometime in the next two to four
weeks something new, fantastic and fun is going to debut! Courtesy of HB9RS,
Dr. Max De Henseler of Switzerland! I can think of nobody other then Dr. Max
who has contributed so much Hallicrafters historical material to our beloved
Halli Hobby. However, this is absolutely NOT to take a thing away from what
Al Parker has done or Doug Moore or Chuck Dachis or Ole Jack in IL and many
others. The HHI web site is fantastic because of all that all of you have
contributed over the decades!

Which brings up one final point. The HHI web site is "NOT" supported or
using free server space as it once did! Right now, and for almost two years
now, it is being paid for by two people. It would be absolutely terrific if
some of you would send W5JT five dollars each year to keep the site
operating. He has to pay for the domain names, server space, hosting costs
and so forth.

Whatever you send to W5JT to help keep the HHI web site operating will be
appreciated. Thank you for helping keep Hallicrafters alive and glowing!
