It was under powered and lacking 15 meters which probably means it was
designed in 1951 or before. The HT-30 was the transmitter/exciter in the
SR-500
console.

The only SR-500's I have ever seen were in pictures.
One in a Harrison 1959 catalog pictured with all the used gear and the
second at ET3 (HB9RS) in 1961 pictures when Rundy W3ZA visited on a
Dxpedition.

The SR-500 was replaced by the SR-1000 with a SX-101 replacing the SX-100,
the HT-32 replacing the HT-30, and the HT-33 replacing the 500 watt amp.
The only known units of the SR-1000 I know of was the one Trav , K9EBE used
at Henry Radio and Dayton and the one sent ny Bill Halligan and Maxwell
Meyers to HV1CN (the Vatican City). In that version the SX-101 was replaced
by the later SX-115.

As with many manufacturers Hallicrafters used the same numbers again. There
was a transceiver called the SR-500. K9EBE made sure the KW transceiver was
named the SR-2000 skipping the already used SR-1000.
