All this discussion prompts me to suggest what I had been thinking all
along.
Find a suitable piece of pvc pipe, slightly undersized, heat it with heat
gun or lamp and gently force it over the offending nut. Let cool and maybe
you have a perfect filt wrench. Maybe not. At least it won't hurt anything
and very little lost if it doesn't work. Much gained if it does.
Allen Bradley had this for some of their industrial control panel buttons,
switches, lights.
