[Hallicrafters] HAM radio contact log

For what it is worth -

Several Hams among our vintage compatriots have recreated excellent copies
of the original Hallicrafters Log Books. They are not expensive and look
extremely real. One version did not have a year printed on it, as the
original Hallicrafters Log Books that I have show. The other one did, such
as 1966. I am not sure whether the year the log book is for, being printed
as part of said log book on the cover, really matters.

I suppose a Ham in the sixties, or today, could write in the year with
his/her favorite black marker. Then again, did they have those things in the
sixties?

Yea, I know, so how does a totally blind man know how good or bad they look,
heh? I am a professional Magician/Illusionist. Ask a living Rabbit in your
immediate area, that is, if you can catch it and you speak Rabbit! If not in
a Bunny available area, then take the word of the sighted Hams that I had
compare the two reproductions that I was sent for review against my
originals. Two slightly gassy vacuum tubes up!

I have to take all of my log data down in the form of Braille. One
typewriter printed 8.5X11 sheet = three sheets in Braille! Then I must
transcribe said Braille Net or personal QSO or DX contact into print in the
word processing program. Hey! That Braille really stacks up on ya!

What I truly need is a "decent" cassette recorder that does not break after
nine months! The digital ones lack audio clarity to me and do not store
enough data at one time. So far I have not found a "good" cassette recorder
out there to buy!

You've doubtless heard of the "Farting Dog" syndrome associated with RS tape
decks? I am told that noise they make, which sounds like its name suggests,
is due to RS purchasing a "big" lot of defective capacitors several years
back. Now this has been going on for three or more years, good grief, how
many zillion of these sick things did they buy anyhow?

The only fault of the reproductions is that they look too new.
